Technology Tuesday #1 8/26

The first meeting featured discussion on the Google tool suite that come with a GMAIL account. Attendees Richard, Denise, Phil, Don, Van, Paul,Carolyn were encouraged to get a gmail account if they did not have one. Several faculty members signed up for the Gmail account after the session.

• Specific outcomes included getting a Gmail acccount to get Google apps
• Google docs overview
• Creating and using blogs – Discussion and examples of how students are using these tools as electronic portfolios.
• Open discussion on how to integrating Google docs into Blackboard can reduce administrative overhead and busywork.

We also viewed a short video overview of the Google Docs application suite.
